He is a rationalist cognitive therapist, who bullies her into exposing her inner demons. In contrast, the woman embraces the mysterious, uncanny energies of the unconscious and unknowable elemental forces.

Her violence against the man and her own body is unbounded. The scenes of her crushing his penis and then snipping off her clitoris and labia are graphic.

But it is not designer violence, intended to appall and titillate in the same breath. Neither does it inspire compassion.

Von Trier simply presents cruelty as "there", serving no liberating function for the audience. Pain — its infliction and its suffering — is integral to life.

Von Trier has admitted that, of all his films, Antichrist "comes closest to a scream". It exposes us to an untamed erotic and aggressive aesthetic without redemption.

It jolts us out of a passive voyeurism and, in despair, leaves us in the words of Handel crying over cruel fate.

This is the only film I have seen that clearly seems directed by someone with mental health issues. And I don't say that in a negative way: I think it is genius.

I know people who would hate me if I recommended them to see this — the violence is horrible and at times the film becomes almost ridiculous, such as in the scene with the talking fox.

But this is a visceral film. I rarely come out of films feeling that I have experienced anything of life, but Antichrist shows you how depression, dislocation and desperation feel.

It is almost like a suicidal film — grief that can only be articulated through violence female or cold sterility male. I sometimes wonder if Von Trier's films have led to his nervous breakdown — the fact that he allows himself time and time again to go to the very dark side of human emotions to try to show us the tormented mind, and in this case getting the actors to enact his own demons.

I have read a few reviews where people were balking at Von Trier having a breakdown, implying that perhaps it was a gimmick. But I don't think this film could possibly have been made without that experience.

This is film as art. It's not trying to be reasonable, and I find it quite close to painting in the way it plays with the abstract, the real and the unreal.

Watching this film was like having bad sex with someone you loathe — a hideous combination of sheer boredom and disgust. I hated it, and I hate the director for making it.

So, Von Trier was depressed a while back, had nightmares and decided to write the script of this atrocity as a form of therapy.

Lediglich in der Anfangssequenz des Films wird die Intimität zwischen den Protagonisten als ein schöner, erhabener Akt dargestellt, doch erscheint dies ambivalent in Anbetracht des gleichzeitig stattfindenden Kindstodes… Jene Eröffnungssequenz, die mit einer auf die meisten zeitgenössischen Kinogänger wohl befremdlich wirkenden Arie Händels unterlegt ist, ist fraglos der beachtenswerteste Moment des Films, da es von Trier gelingt, völlig gegenläufige Emotionen — Erhebung und Entsetzen — im Zuschauer zu evozieren. Der kleine Nic wird nämlich das weitere Geschehen ins Rollen bringen. Bei Dogville mochte ich sehr die tiefgehende Darstellung der einzelnen Deadpool 2 Trailer Deutsch und ihren Beziehungen untereinander, zudem Dan Machi ich die Thematisierung der Einstellung, die man der Moral anderer Menschen Bang Bang Film einnimmt, sehr interessant. I can understand why people think that this is a bad movie and a rip-off. I mean, like another reviewer said, the Italians love to try and make stylish rip-offs of American horror.

I mean, some rip-offs are just complete retreads of the films they're ripping off. I felt more closely attached to Ippolita then I did to Regan.

The pretty Italian scenery, the sets, the costumes. Very good work. Not to mention the fact that we Americans reportedly viewed the cut version on the Embassy Cult Classics Lable.

Un film autobiografico, non bisogna dimenticarlo. Generato dal buio. Dopo un lungo periodo di depressione, il controverso regista danese Lars Von Trier dirige una sceneggiatura da lui stesso scritta.

E la pellicola traspone a meglio tutto il dolore e l'inquietudine provati in quel viaggio, dove si combatte con se stessi. I due protagonisti sono infatti una coppia il cui figlio, mentre fanno l'amore con grande trasporto, cade dalla finestra e muore.

Per poter uscire dalla depressione Lars Von Trier decide di elaborare un script, su cui viene esplorato il tema della depressione con atmosfera malinconica e oscura.

Se Lars Von Trier ha cercato di curare la propria depressione girando un film,ha fatto quello che fa il protagonista decidendo di curare la moglie a modo proprio:un tragico errore.

Una visione apocalittica il caos regna sull'uomo e sulla donna. Una finestra surreale sulla crisi di due amanti che si autodistruggono a vicenda.

La depressione del regista si fa largo nella pellicola penetrando nei nostri pensieri e non lasciandoci nessuna via di uscita, nessun happy end.

Storia agghiacciante di una mente malata. Un horror ben congeniato, diretto con maestria da un Von Trier in gran forma. Un film sorretto da due grandi attori come Defoe e la Gainsbourg.

Sceneggiatura stupenda e bellissima la fotografia. La perdita di un bimbo porta la coppia a colpevolizzarsi a vicenda, la madre cade in una profonda depressione senza ritorno.

Bellissima interpretazione dello spirito malvagio che si impossessa della mente della mamma, portandola in un abisso di perversione, a tratti maniaco- compulsiva, senza freni inibitori.

La natura si rivela quale madre dei segreti del passato, nel massacro di corpi di bambini,, [ Un film ricco, non direi elegante ma dalle forme estreme e dai colori accesi come una pittura fiamminga.

Ho voluto accedere al sito per leggere le recensioni, che immaginavo, soprattutto quelle dei quotidiani di "sinistra", liquidatorie e irridenti.

Come nella vita anche nell'arte le persone giudicano solo con parametri di casta, corporativi, e non si fanno scrupolo di mandare al rogo [ Il film si divide in due parti semplificando : nella prima si assiste alla gestazione del dolore per la morte del figlio e al percorso quasi psicoterapeutico per aiutare la donna a superare gli attacchi di panico che la colpiscono.

Premetto che i film di Lars von Trier in generale mi sono sempre piaciuti, alcuni addirittura mi hanno entusiasmato. Sono quindi andato a vedere il suo ultimo film, nonostante, spulciando senza attenzione alcune critiche in generale non mi interessano , avessi avuto la sensazione che non si trattasse di un film eccezionale.

Speravo che il film alla fine avrebbe giustificato in una qualche maniera [ Seguo da molti anni la filmografia del regista danese e a parte pellicole a mio parere poco riuscite, come dancer in the dark, ho sempre apprezzato la ricerca estetica e le riflessioni che ogni sua opera conteneva, tanto da confondere la sua visione alla mia.

Un'indagine incredibilmente scientifica dei sintomi di panico, ansia, dolore, col senso di un rito di iniziazione pensiamo alla foresta e alla conclusion [ Paure e fobie sono al centro del film, come solo Von Trier riesce a palesarle senza mostrarle in maniera esplicita.

La media di 3 stelle? Impatto visivo di plastica, attori persi nel vuoto, dialoghi imbalsamati, regia amatoriale, simbologie da circo equestre, misoginia da anno e soprattutto tanta noia.

Probabilmente un record considerando l'alto tasso di sesso, violenza e gore dello script. Questo film conferma il mio giudizio su L.

Alla larga, se amate il buon cinema. Ci sono opere destinate a diventare Arte, destinate a entrare nell'immaginario collettivo e altre, invece, destinate a sprofondare nell'oblio delle aberrazioni.

Criticare, giudicare e adirittura recensire questa pellicola non e' facile come apparentemente sembra. Primo perche' non rientra in un genere standard anche se sicuramente non e' un horror ed e' difficile riconoscerne il genere di appartenenza: thriller, drammatico, socio-psicologico?

La risposta in realta' non esiste. Secondo, criticare il film non e' mai facile perche' [ Una pellicola brulicante di citazioni letterarie e filosofiche con le misure e le dismisure di uno stato ipnotico.

Le risate di disperazione sono invece sono quelle per Lars Von Trier, in concorso per l'ottava volta a Cannes, con Antichrist. Sullo schermo compaiono solo due attori - Charlotte Gainsbourg e Willem Dafoe - che interpretano una coppia in crisi dopo la morte accidentale del loro bambino.

Decidono di ritirarsi in una capanna isolata in un [ Certo, non si poteva sperare di meglio in un mondo disabituato al sottosuolo [ Da tempo il regista danese di 53 anni, sta davvero male.

Si aggravano i suoi disturbi nervosi clasutrofobia, attacchi di panio : molte mattine non arriva ad alzarsi dal letto, soffre d'insonnia, piange, si sente dissociato dal proprio corpo.

Le sue mani sono scosse da un tremito perenne che gli impedisce di prendere appunti e di tenere la macchina da presa, come ha sempre fatto.

Una coppia coniugale, devastata dal dolore e dai sensi di colpa per la morte del suo bambino piccolo precipitato dalla finestra, si rifugia in una baita isolata tra i boschi sperando di recuperare l'equilibrio perduto e di elaborare il lutto.

Ingannati dalle allettanti promesse di pornografia, erano corsi a frotte al cinema, intasandolo tutto un'ora prima dell'inizio del tanto atteso nuovo capolavoro di Lars von Trier, dal titolo sulfureo, Antichrist, quindi adatto a suscitare i tanto benedetti scandali.

In preda a una forte depressione, come lui stesso ha rivelato, il regista danese ha scelto come terapia non un analista o gli psicofarmaci, [ Immagini forti o insostenibili non mancano, fra torture e automutilazioni.

La palma d'oro a Il nastro bianco. L'oblio di Ida Dalser Arriva nelle sale un primo assaggio di Cannes con due film presentati in concorso al Festival del Cinema, da tempo attesi dal pubblico.
